According to Dr. David Stern, Medical Director at Silverado Calabasas Memory Care Community, symptoms of Alzheimer’s start early and can typically go unnoticed.  Generally speaking, there are two years between the time symptoms start and the time it’s diagnosed.  From then, there is a slow and ongoing progression of the disease, and the length of time between the diagnosis and the time a patient eventually succumbs to illness can be about 10 years on average.
